How we got to $238K

Monthly Meta spend: ~$375K (midpoint of $350–400K).

Customers a month: ~2,420 at $155 CAC vs. ~3,125 at $120 CAC, about 700 more.

Extra customer value: ~700 customers × ~$337 customer value ≈ $238K a month.

Homemade Method spends roughly $350–400K a month on Meta. For every $10,000 in spend, the creator ads bring in about 83 customers where the rest of the account brings in about 65. If the whole account ran at the creator-ad CAC, that is roughly 160 extra customers a week, or about $19,500 a week saved for the same number of customers. Nobody has claimed the CAC would hold at full-account scale; these are “if” figures, not results.

In their words

“I’ve referred to that document like 15 times with about 7 different people. And already using it to test new product hook ideas!”

“Before we were running the creators’ own concepts and that’s when we were having some quality concerns. So we switched it up and started sending through our own scripts for the creators to record. Since then they’ve been picking up spend fast and running at ~$120 CAC vs ~$155 for the rest of the account. Really happy with where it’s at rn.”

“Just did onboarding. Super impressed with your set up. High hopes we’re going to slay working with you and the Plutus team. Let’s do this!”

The problem

Homemade Method knew how to sell. What it could not do was show the app as the solution in 15 to 30 seconds.

“The winning formula for an app ad is ICP plus problem plus solution, which is the app, in 15 to 30 seconds. And right now we’ve never figured out what that looks like.”

“There is such a divide between the users seeing our socials or our ads, and actually even knowing it’s an app. We’ve never bridged that gap.”

Why now
Q3 is peak season. Meta CAC sat around $135. New subscribers sometimes arrived thinking they had bought a cookbook, which hurt activation and retention. They wanted a new creative input fast.
Already tried
Six to twelve months looking at options. Founder videos and long testimonial reels were the best ads; one member testimonial had spent about $500K on its own.
What success meant
Creator content that could be whitelisted and boosted to lower blended CAC, plus three or four winning angles to hammer.

Objective

Primary objective

Lower paid CAC so the same Meta budget buys more customers

Supporting metrics

  • Time to first UGC-attributed sale
  • A validated library of product hooks to keep testing

What Plutus did

  1. Creator system

Product-hook mapping before any video was filmed: each feature rewritten as a visual “aha” moment in the member’s own voice, with the on-screen visual and setup line. It became the client’s internal reference for hook testing.

  2. Testing system

Recruited and managed US women in their 50s and 60s, screened against Anna’s brief: authentic, unpolished, medically accurate claims only, no diet-culture language. Creators in their 40s would not be credible to a 65-year-old member.

  3. Optimization system

Creators started with their own concepts. When the client’s UA team flagged quality, we switched to a tighter loop: their UA lead sends scripts, our creators record and post, their team pushes raw files straight into Meta ads. Raw files, hook scripts, and Instagram partnership access handed over within days.

The learning

The biggest lesson was that for this audience, the script and the delivery matter more than the concept. Creator-generated concepts produced quality concerns; the client’s own scripts, recorded by the right 50-to-60-year-old creators, produced sales within days and a CAC 23% below the rest of the account. This gave the client a decision: keep the creator system running as a production line for scripted ad creative, and scale the winners with partnership ads.

What happened next

The creator system keeps running as a production line for scripted ad creative. Every new hook from the product map goes through it.
